Wilderness Program Supervisor:  Seattle YMCA Boys and Girls Outdoor Leadership (BOLD & GOLD) is hiring a Wilderness Program Supervisor.  This person will be overseeing the operational aspects of 75+ wilderness based programs for teens.  You will work alongside the Program Director to create a collaborative, community focused, and inclusive wilderness experience for over 1000 youth and 60+ staff.  Click here for more information.

Seasonal Positions

Currently we are looking for talented educators to lead our backpacking, fishing, yoga, rock climbing, and mountaineering expeditions this summer. Specifically, we are hiring these positions:

Wilderness Instructor: – You will be responsible for the physical and emotional safety of up to 10 students on 8-22 day wilderness based expeditions.  Programs begin and end in Seattle, WA.

Wilderness Program Course Director: This person is responsible for management and delivery of 8-22 day wilderness based experiential education programs.

Logistics Coordinator: This person is responsible for managing our logistical systems and support of our 60-70 wilderness based expeditions. Responsibilities include overseeing food, equipment, and transportation for the upcoming summer season.

Expedition Support:  You will work closely with our Logistics Coordinator and Course Directors to ensure that the instructors, and through them, the students, are provided with the necessary resources to be successful.  This could be in the form of packing food, repairing equipment, driving, playing games with the youth, or consoling a homesick participant.  Additionally, you will be given the opportunity to work in the field for at least one week with experienced instructors.  This is a great opportunity for folks without the hands on knowledge of working with youth in the outdoors to gain a better understanding and valuable experience in this field.
